Why Should I Go? You won’t see a lot of advertising for this Greek eatery around town; this blurb is just about it. George’s is the kind of place that would rather rely on word-of-mouth endorsement and, more importantly, it’s the kind of place that has no trouble doing so. People rave about the breakfasts (Chef/owner John Karapanagiotis still makes the chipped beef made by his father-in-law, George, and if you haven’t tried it, you should), the mouth-watering lunches (what’s not to love about homemade pitas overflowing with veggies and chicken), and the affordable dinners (we think the lemon pepper pork tenderloin is a thing of genius).
But people also rave about the vibe of this place. Sandy surfers looking for a break from the break amble across the street to recharge with something light and satisfying, shopped-out girlfriends stop in for a quick bite between bargain-hunting, and families with little kids in tow feel right at home. (The chef’s been known to come out from behind the line to entertain wee ones.)
We think it’s especially cool that George’s has an open kitchen, so you’re privy to every delectable sight and smell. But don’t take our word for it. George’s Place was featured on the America’s Greatest Road Trip segment of Everyday With Rachael Ray, and on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Sautéed in butter and brown sugar, served with powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Fresh Belgian waffle finished with Nutella hazelnut spread, fresh bananas and chopped walnuts.
Mediterranean Cobb Salad
Feta cheese, tomato, kalamata, boiled egg, dolmades, roasted red peppers and grilled chicken.
Urban Chicken Fajita
Grilled chicken, romaine, Parmigiana cheese and roasted red peppers.
A fresh variety including roasted red pepper, olive tapenade and fresh oregano pesto served with grilled pita. This is an appetizer sampler second to none!
Sashimi-grade tuna grilled to temperature with a six-pepper crust. Served with Greek or Caesar salad and grilled pita.
