Why Should I Go? The Harbor View may be the most aptly named restaurant in the county. You’ll want to linger long after you finish your bowl of locally famous she-crab soup or your ridiculously juicy char-broiled burger, simply to take in the seascape.
And you’ll have plenty of choices when it comes to where you linger. Year-round, sip a cocktail at the classic downstairs bar, or watch an osprey soar over the Cape May skyline from one of many massive windows in the upstairs dining room. On the outside deck, it’s a laidback vibe, complete with frosty drinks and live bands pumping everything from hot reggae to Sinatra classics. The music sounds almost as good as the water lapping against boats the docked in the Harbor View marina.
But no matter where you choose to dine, the Harbor View encourages going all out. The restaurant features 19 different kinds of shrimp, and 35 gourmet burgers cooked 130 different ways, and no, that’s not a typo. If you opt for seafood, you’re guaranteed fresh. As a fishermen, owner Captain Fred Ascioli wouldn’t stand for it any other way.
Insider Tip: Captain Fred loves the water, and he loves the fact that you’ll have every opportunity to enjoy it at his restaurant, from the moment you park. For the best spot in the house, pull your boat right up to the dock.
