Why Should I Stay There? The closest you can stay to the beach in Cape May is at this intimate inn with a European flair and an unpretentious air. Owners Robyn and Wolfgang Wendt make you feel at ease. With their love of travel and taste for adventure (Robyn is from New Zealand, Wolfgang is German) they love to surround themselves with intriguing people and they get a kick out of sharing their wonderful Craftsman home.
This handsome Swiss Chalet-style bungalow is decorated with an elegant Arts-and-Crafts motif. The rooms have been decorated with Stickley mission oak furnishings, mica lamps and art glass lanterns. With the spaciousness of the Grand Salon, there is even room for a 1915 Minn Billiard table.
Chef Wolfgang is the mastermind behind the breakfasts you’ll enjoy at this inn. His creations evolve around a contemporary American menu. With his European training, Wolfgang’s philosophy is that it all begins with exceptional ingredients. Not surprisingly, his breakfast dishes are a treat, cooked individually and served in the dining room around conversation-inducing round tables. There are hot-from-the-oven pastries, delectable egg dishes and peppered bacon that is simply irresistible
