Small Dogs Welcome!
Why Should I Stay There? For the mood. This is the ultimate escape. Relax, dream, read, stroll, clear your head — miles away from nasty things like rush-hour traffic and deadlines. The White Dove is inviting and tastefully furnished with American and European antiques. The airy rooms have cheerful period wallpapers, soft carpeting, oil paintings, Currier and Ives prints and unusual collections. The mother-and-daughter team of Joan and Alison Bjork will personally see to your needs in this small, intimate six-room inn. And if you have a cuddly little pal you’d like to bring with you… small dogs are welcome at the White Dove.
The cottage was built in 1866 with a beautiful mansard roof faced with octagonal slate tiles. Three floors with bright sunny rooms take advantage of ocean breezes. The veranda is furnished with rocking chairs and shaded by old sycamore trees on quiet, gas-lit Hughes Street.
You could be in a different world, but you’ll be glad to know that the beach, shops, theater, concerts, tours and a choice of superb restaurants are only blocks away.
So close… and yet so far.
